The Miami Hotel is located in the leafy inner-city West Melbourne area, a two minute walk to nearby popular café precinct Errol Street. Errol Street boasts a range of local amenities including a supermarket, banks, a chemist, and a ‘7-Eleven’ convenience store, as well as an array of dining options. We are also only a 10-minute walk to Melbourne’s iconic Queen Victoria Market – a great place to shop for clothes, souvenirs, and produce; or just to grab a meal.
The hotel is also ideally located for public transport – it’s a quick 10 minute walk to nearby North Melbourne train station which connects to city-bound trains as well as the Craigieburn, Sunbury, Upfield, Werribee and Williamstown lines.
Alternatively, the number 57 tram runs from Errol Street along Victoria Street (past the market) and through the city centre along Elizabeth Street.
Tickets for public transport in Melbourne can be purchased from the nearby 7-Eleven on Errol Street, and staff will be happy to help you out with directions on how to use public transport.
Getting from the Airport to the Miami Hotel
Unfortunately the Miami Hotel doesn’t offer an airport transfer service – however there are a range of options available for reaching the hotel.
To get from Tullamarine airport to the hotel, there are several options, including multiple shuttle bus services which go from the airport to the city.
The Skybus departs from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station (a main station located at the western end of the CBD) and from the station there is a Skybus hotel drop-off. The Skybus from the airport runs 24-hours a day, but the hotel drop-off has limited operating hours depending on the day.
In addition there is a Starbus service. The bus picks you up from the airport and drops off at hotels (no need to change buses).
Both these services offer return tickets for getting you back to the airport when you leave Melbourne - however before buying this make sure to check that they are able to pick you up at the correct time for your return flight! During the night Skybus only offers the bus from Southern Cross to the Airport, not from the hotel, and the Starbus doesn’t run during the night at all.
Should you decide to take a taxi, the cost for this is approximately $50-55 depending on traffic. We recommend advising taxi drivers to follow the freeway until the Dynon Road exit. At the Dynon Road exit turn left towards the city - Dynon Road will become Spencer Street, then turn left into Hawke Street.
The Sita Bus offers a transfer service from Avalon airport to the city, dropping off at Southern Cross Station. This bus is scheduled to meet all major arriving and departing flights.
A taxi from Avalon Airport to the hotel will be over $100.
